? Marquette is 4-8 all-time in NCAA Championship play and 4-5 in the first round. Marquette earned its first win as an No. 8 seed (1-1). MU was last a No. 8 seed in 1999.

? Fiedorowicz led MU with 10 points in the opening frame. She finished the game with 14 points. Fiedorowicz has scored in double figures in six of the last seven games.
? After Texas scored the first basket of the game on a layup by Ashley Gayle, MU used a 13-3 run to take a 13-5 lead behind six points from Paige Fiedorowicz.
