Women's Soccer Ranked in Preseason Polls

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's soccer team has collected its first preseason rankings of the 2011 season. The Golden Eagles are ranked No. 12 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), No. 14 according to Soccer America and No. 18 by Top Drawer Soccer.

Marquette is one of four BIG EAST Conference schools either ranked or receiving votes in any of the three polls. The Golden Eagles will face three teams in 2011 that have received a preseason ranking, including Florida State (No. 5/4), Notre Dame (No. 1/2) and West Virginia (No. 13/21).

The Golden Eagles will wrap-up preseason training camp this week and will officially open the 2011 season, Friday, Aug. 19 against Western Michigan at Valley Fields at 7:30 p.m.
