Women's Tennis Heads West To Take On UC Irvine

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis team heads to the Golden State to take on No. 24 UC Irvine in Irvine, California Monday, March 11 at 11:30 a.m. CT.

Last time out, Marquette (9-6) fell to former conference-foe West Virginia, 5-2, on Sunday, March 3. After falling in doubles action, the Golden Eagles fought hard in singles play but ultimately were unable to claim the victory against the Mountaineers.

UC Irvine (9-3) is riding a seven-game winning streak as of today, with its most recent victory coming against fellow Big West-foe Long Beach State on Saturday, March 2.

The Anteaters take on SMU Sunday, March 10 before Monday's action against Marquette.

The Golden Eagles have dropped three consecutive matches, all of which have occurred on the road.

The matchup against the UC Irvine Anteaters marks Marquette's fifth consecutive road contest, with the sixth and final stop of the trip coming at San Diego State Thursday, March 15 at noon CT.
