Engel Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

MILWAUKEE--Junior goalkeeper Amanda Engel has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for her play in the Marquette Invitational, the league announced Monday.

Engel helped lead Marquette in matches against Loyola-Chicago and Northwestern. The junior from Centennial, Colo. was recognized as the Marquette Invitational Defensive MVP.

Engel shutout Loyola-Chicago, 1-0, this past Friday, earning her first clean sheet of the season. The Marquette goalkeeper followed her strong effort on Friday with a five-save performance in the team's next match against Northwestern on Sunday.

Engel and the Golden Eagles return to action this Friday, Aug. 29, when they travel to Minneapolis, Minn. for a 7 p.m. Central time tilt against the Golden Gophers.
