Marquette University hosts its signature home event, the Erin Hills Intercollegiate, beginning this Sunday through Tuesday (Oct. 4-6) at Erin Hills Golf Course, site of the 2017 U.S. Open.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
- The 2015 Erin Hills Intercollegiate features two of the top-50 amateurs in the world (according to the World Amateur Golf Ranking): No. 16 Jordan Niebrugge of Oklahoma State; No. 46 Jonathan Garrick of UCLA.
- Garrick finished tied for seventh in 2014 (2-over-par), and tied for sixth (2-under-par) in 2013.
- Niebrugge and his Oklahoma State Cowboys will make their first appearance in the Erin Hills Intercollegiate. Niebrugge, a native of Mequon, was the Silver Medalist as the top amateur at the 2015 Open Championship - he finished 11-under par and tied for sixth at St. Andrews playing in his first career major.
- Oklahoma State is ranked No. 4 in the GCAA/Bushnell Golfweek Coaches' Poll, while UCLA is ranked No. 13. Colorado State, New Mexico and SMU are receiving votes - New Mexico is 14th in the Golfweek Sagarin Ratings and CSU is 31st.
- UCLA, SMU, St. John's, Wisconsin and Northern Illinois are appearing for the third time in the Erin Hills Intercollegiate.
MARQUETTE NOTES | 2015-16 Statistics
- All 10 Marquette players will be in action this weekend at Erin Hills.
- New to the starting lineup is Garrett Loomis, who makes his first collegiate appearance as part of MU's five-man lineup.
- Loomis shot a 224 at last weekend's Windon Memorial, fourth-best among all MU players in the event.
- After a shaky first round at the Windon, freshman Oliver Farrell played strong the rest of the way in his collegiate debut, going 2-under-par in his final 36 holes.
- Farrell carded 12 birdies from the second round on, and finished the tournament with five birdies and two pars on his last seven holes.
- Nick Nelson shot a 212 (1-under-par) at the Windon Memorial, his best 54-hole score since posting a 211 at the last season's Windon, 10 events ago.
- Nelson fired his best round of the season, and MU's lowest round score, shooting a 68 in the opening round of the Windon.
- Freshman Austin Kendziorski was Marquette's top player at last weekend's Badger Invitational, leading three MU individuals with a score of 226 (T-27) and finishing fourth among individuals in the event. His final round 72 was the lowest score of his collegiate career.
