Goslee Selected to Preseason All-BIG EAST Team

NEW YORK - Marquette University women's lacrosse senior defender Elizabeth Goslee was named to the preseason All-BIG EAST team, while the Golden Eagles were chosen to finish seventh in the league's preseason poll, the conference announced on Wednesday.
The Cincinnati, Ohio native, received preseason All-BIG EAST honors for the second consecutive season after being named BIG EAST Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, followed by an All-BIG EAST Second Team postseason selection, in 2015.
In addition, Goslee became the first Golden Eagle to be named to the IWLCA All-West/Midwest Region Second Team following an impressive junior campaign. She led MU with 30 ground balls and 30 caused turnovers, ranking fourth in the BIG EAST with a 1.76 CT average.
Goslee is one of 10 returning starters back for the Golden Eagles this season and was named team co-captain for the third straight year along with classmate Kayce Haverstick.
Head coach Meredith Black's team enters its fourth season in program history and third as a member of the BIG EAST Conference.
Florida was tabbed as the conference front-runner, earning six-of-seven possible first-place votes, while Connecticut was second and earned the remaining two first-place votes.
Marquette will open the 2016 season Feb. 6, with a road contest against ACC foe Louisville at 1 p.m. Central time.
