MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's lacrosse team recently wrapped up its fall season for the 2017-18 academic year.
The non-traditional fall season is a way for the team to get acclimated through several weeks of practicing and scheduled scrimmages. Head coach Meredith Black, who enters her seventh year and sixth season with the program, was encouraged with how the fall season went.
The Golden Eagles played nine scimmages, traveling to places like Louisville, Ky., Mount Pleasant, Mich., Evanston, Ill., and Indianapolis.
The team will have limited contact through winter break before gearing up in January for the start of the season, which kicks off Feb. 9, at Johns Hopkins. Marquette will host a majority of its nine-game home schedule inside the Valley Fields Dome, which is set for inflation in late-November.
