VILLANOVA, Pa.--The Marquette women's basketball team is back in action Sunday at Villanova, which will mark the halfway point of BIG EAST Conference play. Tip-off is slated for 11 a.m. CT at Jake Nevin Fieldhouse.
FS1 will carry the broadcast with Lisa Byington handling play-by-play duties and Kim Adams as the analyst. This marks the third of five games on national television for MU this season.
The Golden Eagles are coming off their first loss in league play as they fell, 85-58 at Georgetown on Friday. Amani Wilborn and Erika Davenport reached double digits for Marquette with 20 and 10 points, respectively. Davenport became the 27th player in MU program history to reach 1,000 career points with a layup in the first quarter. Marquette is the only BIG EAST team and just the 10th in NCAA Division I to have three-or-more active 1,000-point scorers.
Villanova had its way with DePaul on Friday with an 84-58 victory over the Blue Demons, which was the best offensive outing for the Wildcats this season. Junior Adriana Hahn and senior Alex Louin each poured in 17 points, while Hahn also reached the 1,000th point in her career.
Marquette owns a narrow 10-9 advantage in the all-time season series, including winning both contests in the 2016-17 campaign.
