Barber and Konovodoff Garner BIG EAST Weekly Awards

Barber earns her third Offensive Player of the Week honor
NEW YORK-- Marquette University volleyball junior Allie Barber has been named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season, while sophomore Martha Konovodoff was tabbed to the league's weekly honor roll for the third time and her fourth overall weekly award.Â
Barber averaged 4.67 kills in a 2-0 week for No. 19 Marquette as the Golden Eagles earned a pair of sweeps over Georgetown and Villanova. The Cedarburg, Wisconsin native also hit a .397 clip in the two matches.
Konovodoff collected 5.00 digs per contest in the two matches with five service aces, including four against Villanova. She currently ranks third in the BIG EAST averaging 4.94 digs per set.
The Golden Eagles host Xavier Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Central time for Field Trip Day at the Al McGuire Center.Â
