Bhoom Sima-Aree Signs NLI to Join Marquette Golf

Sima-Aree, a top-level amateur player from Thailand, will join the Golden Eagles next fall
Bhitchayoot (Bhoom) Sima-Aree, a native of Nonthaburi, Thailand, has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to join the Marquette University men's golf program for the 2019-20 season.
Sima-Aree comes to Marquette with a track record of success at the junior level in both Thailand and in international competition, and with experience in professional tournaments in his home country. According to Junior Golf Scoreboard, Sima-Aree is the 11th-ranked international player for the 2019 recruiting class and 97th overall. He is currently the 13th-ranked amateur in Thailand, according to the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).

- Was first runner-up at the FGC International Junior Championship in early July at Sycuan Resort in San Diego - he shot a 54-hole 209 (71-69-69) to tie for the top spot before finishing second in a three-way playoff.
- After winning his qualifying event in Thailand, Sima-Aree finished 26th at the IMG Academy World Junior Championship at Torrey Pines South Course in July of 2018, shooting a 72-hole 293 (74-74-71-74), nine strokes off the winning total.
- Junior Golf Tournament of Asia All-Asia Team in 2018.
- Posted top-10 finishes in each of the last two Thailand Amateur Open championships, including a fourth-place 280 (70-76-65-69) in 2018.
- Made the cut and finished 34th overall, and tops among amateur players, in his second career professional event - the Singha Laguna Phuket Open in May of 2018. He shot a 72-hole 282 (75-65-67-75).
- Earned top amateur honors in his first pro event, the CHANG Ongkarak Championships, in April of 2016.
Sima-Aree attends Mahidol University International Demonstration School near Bangkok and carries a 3.81 GPA.
