MILWAUKEE--The Marquette women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of the Al McGuire Center after a three-game road trip to host Providence on Friday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. Central time.
The Golden Eagles continue the second half of conference play in a tie for first place with the DePaul. Marquette will play Providence for the second time this season after besting the Friars in early January.
The game will air on the BIG EAST Digital Network via FOX Sports GO with Kent Sommerfeld and John Fanta calling the action.
Jovana Nogic leads the Friars with 17.1 points per game and had a strong showing in the last contest with Marquette, pouring in 24 points on the strength of four three-pointers. Providence had lost seven straight before besting St. John's by two points and the Friars sit at the bottom of the conference with a 2-9 BIG EAST record.
For the Golden Eagles, five players are averaging double figures, led by Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Finalist Allazia Blockton. Blockton enters this weekend's action needing just 30 points to crack the top-10 all-time scoring list at Marquette.
Marquette has been unbeatable at home this season and have won 15 home games in a row dating back to last season. The Golden Eagles will look to build on that streak, which stands as the third-highest in program history just behind 21 straight (1996-1998) and 23 in a row (1998-2001).
Prior to tip, there will be a National Marquette Day Pep Rally beginning at 6 p.m. CT. across from the Al McGuire Center, which will close 12th street and Lot F across from the arena. All pep rally attendees will receive complimentary general admission seating to the game.
Marquette will be in action once again on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. CT hosting Creighton, which will air live on FS Wisconsin.
