Marquette Faces Butler Sunday in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS--The Marquette women's basketball team looks to start a new winning streak at Butler on Sunday afternoon as the Golden Eagles take on the Bulldogs at Noon Central time at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
The game will air on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Will Haskett and Ralph Reiff calling the action.
Marquette (16-8, 10-3) is fresh off an 80-63 win at Xavier on Friday night led by 23 points from Allazia Blockton, while Natisha Hiedeman and Amani Wilborn also tallied double digits. Blockton improved her season average to 19.1 points per game and remains the league leader.
Butler has dropped five in-a-row, including an 86-68 decision to DePaul on Friday evening, and sits at a 13-13 overall record and 5-9 BIG EAST mark. Tori Schickel and Sydney Buck scored seven points apiece for the Bulldogs. Whitney Jennings leads the team with 17.6 points per game, while Schickel leads Butler and the BIG EAST grabbing 9.6 rebounds per game.
The Golden Eagles needed a last second shot from Blockton to pull out a 69-67 win over Butler in the first meeting of the season, while MU owns the series record, 10-7.
Marquette will return home for its final home games of the season next weekend hosting Villanova at 11:30 a.m. CT on Friday, Feb. 16 before facing Georgetown at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18 for senior day.
