Fleming is the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

NEW YORK - Redshirt freshman Griffin Fleming of the Marquette University men's lacrosse team was honored as the BIG EAST Conference Freshman of the Week after posting a hat trick at Michigan on Saturday afternoon.
Fleming, making his fifth start in the season's sixth game, notched the first goal of his collegiate career at the 9:02 mark of the second quarter. He added another a little more than two minutes later and posted his final tally in the fourth quarter. The attackman also notched a career-high four ground balls against the Wolverines.
The native of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania redshirted as a true freshman in 2017 after sustaining a knee injury during fall training.
He is the second MU student-athlete to earn the honor this season, following Anthony Orsini's recognition on Feb. 26.
The Golden Eagles begin BIG EAST action on Saturday, March 24 at Valley Fields against Georgetown at noon Central time.
