The senior nabs her fourth consecutive league nod
NEW YORK – The No. 10/9 Marquette women's basketball guard Natisha Hiedeman was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced on Monday, after leading the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 weekend to remain unbeaten in league play.
Hiedeman posted 18 points, netted four 3-pointers (4-for-6) and added in eight rebounds and five assists to lead Marquette to a 90-44 victory at Xavier on Friday. The senior then tied her season high with five triples (5-of-8) en route to a 21-point showing in another sizable margin of victory, 87-58, on Sunday at Butler.
Hiedeman now leads the BIG EAST with 23 points per contest and sits atop the league in 3-pointers made with 33, 10 ahead of the next closest contender. The weekly accolade also marks the senior's fourth consecutive conference nod.
The Golden Eagles' 9-0 win streak for the first half of BIG EAST action is the best start for a team since conference realignment.
Marquette travels to preseason league co-favorite DePaul on Wednesday on Sunday, Feb. 3 for a 1 p.m. CT tip. The Golden Eagles took the first game of the home-and-home series on Jan. 4, 96-63.
