Lott and King Earn BIG EAST Preseason Honors

Lott is chosen to Preseason All-BIG EAST squad; King is Preseason Freshman of the Year
NEW YORK—Marquette University women's basketball junior Selena Lott was selected to the Preseason All-BIG EAST team, while newcomer Jordan King was chosen as the Preseason Freshman of the Year, the first Marquette player to earn the honor. The league office announced the selections on Thursday in front of women's basketball media day.
Lott created noise in the BIG EAST a year ago as she started 15 league contests last season and averaged 9.0 points. The junior guard is an experienced returner for the Golden Eagles as she played in all 35 contests for MU with 21 overall starting assignments. She recorded double digits on 10 occasions, including through her first five starts in BIG EAST play. seeing action in 35 games a year ago and scoring in double figures on 10 occasions.
A Rockton, Illinois native, King attended Hononegah High School where she scored 2,505 career points to set a NIC-10 Conference record, while also establishing the single-game standard of 39 points. Among her accolades are IBCA First Team All-State for class 3A/4A, AP First Team All-State and News-Gazette First Team All-State.
DePaul was unanimously selected as the preseason favorites to lead the BIG EAST as selected by a poll of the league's coaches.
