Barber is BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

The senior earns her fifth weekly award of the season
NEW YORK- Marquette University volleyball senior Allie Barber has been selected as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Barber led Marquette to a 2-0 week last week as the Golden Eagles beat both Villanova and Georgetown without dropping a set. In the sweep over the Wildcats, Barber hit at a .484 mark while tallying 18 kills, while against Georgetown, she hit at an even better .524 clip, with 11 kills and no errors. On the week, she hit at a .500 mark while averaging 4.83 kills and continues to lead the BIG EAST with 4.62 kills per set.

Marquette moved up one spot in the AVCA Volleyball Coaches' Poll with the pair of victories and is now ranked No. 11.
This marks the fifth time this season that Barber has earned weekly league recognition and the third time she has been tabbed as BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week.
Marquette will head to New York to take on St. John's this Friday, Oct. 25th, which will air live on the BIG EAST Digital Network at 6 p.m. CT. The Golden Eagles will travel to Seton Hall the next day, at 4 p.m. CT.
