Golden Eagles Compete In Third Straight Weekend
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette women's tennis team travels to Evanston, Ill. for the 2019 Wildcat Invite hosted by Northwestern University. This marks the third straight fall tournament for MU.
The Golden Eagles hope to build off the success from the Hoosier Classic last week. Highlights from the tournament included Milica Novakic conquering all of her singles matches with wins over Western Michigan and MTSU, as well as Elizabeth Ferdman earning her first collegiate victory.
In addition to Marquette, the Northwestern Wildcats will host Miami (OH), James Madison, Purdue, Penn State, Princeton, Michigan State, Columbia, Kentucky, UIC, Lewis, Chicago State, and Eastern Illinois.
The first match is scheduled to begin on Friday, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. CT at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center, but is subject to change due to weather. Friday will focus on singles matches with doubles played on Saturday. Sunday will conclude with a mix of doubles and singles competition.
Marquette will have seven players on court at Northwestern, the largest squad competing for the Golden Eagles this fall.
This tournament marks the midway point of the fall campaign with the ITA Midwest Regional and a tournament at Louisville remaining.
