Eichhorn earns his third weekly honor of the season
NEW YORK – Marquette University men's golfer Hunter Eichhorn has earned his third BIG EAST Conference Male Golfer of the Week honor of the season, it was announced on Friday.
The junior won the fall's final honor for his 14th-place finish at the Hoakalei Country Club Invitational on Oct. 28-30 in 'Ewa Beach, Hawaii with a 4-under par 212 (72-68-72). He was also named to the final fall watch list for the Fred Haskins Award, honoring the year's outstanding college golfer, has led the Golden Eagles at five of six tournaments with four top-10 finishes.
Eichhorn, who will compete at the Sun Bowl All-America Classic on Nov. 24-26, has finished all six tournaments at par-or-better and tied a collegiate low with a 6-under 207 at the Windon Memorial Classic. He has posted a 70.39 scoring average this fall to lead MU and is an average of 1.11 strokes under par with 13 of 18 rounds this season coming under par.
Eichhorn has earned BIG EAST weekly recognition on five other occasions, most recently on Oct. 11 after winning the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills on Oct. 6-8.
