Farrell Claims Second BIG EAST Male Golfer of Week Honor

The senior went 5-under-par in his last 36 holes at the Puerto Rico Classic

For the second time this season, Marquette senior Oliver Farrell has been named BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week.

In Marquette's opening tournament of the spring season, Farrell closed the Puerto Rico Classic with a 2-under-par finish to tie for 15th while leading Marquette to an 8th place showing at Rio Mar C.C.

Farrell's 2-under-par score was just four strokes off the lead pace, as 22 players finished under par. After opening with a 75 on Sunday, Farrell closed with a 5-under-par performance in his final 36 holes. He made 38 pars and went 2-under for the tournament on Par 4 chances in a field where the average individual score was 73.47.

Marquette posted a 54-hole 874 (294-285-295) in the three-day PRC, an event which featured eight Golfstat top-50 programs (MU - No. 31) and 20 top-100 players (Hunter Eichhorn - No. 59; Farrell - No. 90) in the 75-man field.

Farrell's 71.61 (-0.39 vs. par) scoring average is second in the BIG EAST behind Eichhorn.
