The Golden Eagles face three teams that reached the 2019 NCAA Tournament
MILWAUKEE—Marquette women's basketball head coach Megan Duffy has announced the 2019-20 non-conference schedule for the Golden Eagles, which features three teams that advanced to the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
"We are excited about the opportunity to play a non-conference schedule that will test our team on the national scene and prepare us for BIG EAST competition," Duffy said. "We will have a great mix of local rivals, NCAA tournament teams and new opponents that will expose us to all different styles. I look forward to seeing the growth of our young team and new faces."
The Golden Eagles will have seven home contests at the Al McGuire Center, including an exhibition against Winona State on Saturday, Oct. 26. Marquette will officially open the 2019-20 campaign on Tuesday, Nov. 5, welcoming Morgan State for a matinee.
An annual matchup against in-state foe Green Bay resumes as the Golden Eagles travel to Green Bay on Tuesday, Nov. 19. MU defeated the Phoenix for the first time in six games last season in Milwaukee. Marquette will take on 2019 Elite Eight squad Mississippi State on Monday, Nov. 25 at the Al, which will be the final home contest for nearly a month. The four-game road swing will include a Thanksgiving tournament at St. Mary's, a trip across town to city-foe Milwaukee (Dec. 8) and a visit to South Dakota State on Dec. 17. The Jackrabbits advanced to the Sweet 16 in the 2019 NCAA Tournament before falling to Oregon. Last season the Golden Eagles opened the season against SDSU earning a 91-52 victory at the Al.
The final game before BIG EAST play begins will see MU host Belmont on Saturday, Dec. 21 in Milwaukee. The Bruins also reached the NCAA Tournament a year ago, falling in the first round to South Carolina.
Season tickets are currently on sale starting at $50 for general admission (upper level & lower bench), with lower-reserved chair back seats available for $100.
To purchase tickets call 414-288-GOMU (4668) to speak with a ticket representative or purchase online at GoMarquette.com/tickets. Mini-plans will be available in late-September with single game tickets on sale in October.
