The Golden Eagles open their 27th season on Thursday at Colorado State
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women's soccer team begins its 27th season of competition on Thursday in Colorado with a season-opening match against Colorado State.

- 2 Emily Hess (Sr., D, Batavia, Ill.)
- Started all 18 matches in 2018 and has started 51 of 59 matches in which she has played in her MU career
- Posted two assists and fired 17 shots last season and has also played in the midfield
- 0 Maddy Henry (Sr., GK, Omaha, Neb.)
- Has started all 61 matches of her collegiate career
- Enters the season two saves behind Mo Bothwell (288) for the No. 1 mark in MU history
- Sits second in career saves per match (4.68) and fifth in shutouts all-time at Marquette
- 7 Bri Jaeger (GS, D, Cedarburg, Wis.)
- Started all 18 matches at center back in 2018 and played 1,675 minutes
- Has scored one goal in each of the last two seasons with both scores coming in the month of September

- Tied for the team lead with three goals as a freshman

- Scored a goal and posted three assists in 2018
- Played 909 minutes last season after seeing action in all 21 matches in 2017

- Recorded a pair of assists in 2019
- Started five of the 13 matches in which she appeared on defense
- Switching to holding midfielder this fall

- The Golden Eagles begin the year with their first three regular season contests on the road before commencing their home slate against Michigan on Sept. 1.
- Against common non-conference opponents from last season, MU went 1-2 with a win over Milwaukee and losses to Wisconsin and Michigan in 2018.
- MU plays a rare non-conference home-and-home series with Colorado State. The Golden Eagles face the Rams in the season lid-lifter on Aug. 22 and welcome them to Milwaukee for a Sunday, Sept. 22 matinee.
- BIG EAST play begins on Sunday, Sept. 29 at defending league champion Georgetown
- Senior Night is Thursday, Oct. 24 against Xavier
- The BIG EAST semifinals and title match will be held in Omaha, Nebraska.
- Tickets for all regular season home games are now on sale. Single game tickets are priced at $5 while groups of fifteen-or-more are $2 per person. Season tickets are $45 and include admission to all games as well as an exclusive Marquette Soccer scarf. For groups, call the ticket office at 414-288-4668.
- The annual petting zoo returns on Sunday, Sept. 8 for the match against Utah State
- Giveaways throughout the year include Chick fil-a, Ian's Pizza, MU tank tops and umbrella
- MU's breast cancer awareness game is Sunday, Oct. 20 against Villanova
