The junior earns her first career player of the week award
NEW YORK— Marquette University junior Selena Lott has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week for the first time in her career, the league office announced on Monday.
Lott led the conference in scoring and tied for the lead in assists in a 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles. She went for a career-high 34 points in Marquette's win over St. John's on Friday, adding seven assists, three rebounds and two steals and followed that with 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists in Sunday's win over Seton Hall. For the week Lott averaged 26.5 points, 6.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds and .613 shooting, knocking down nearly 42 percent of her attempts from beyond the arc.
The Golden Eagles have won three straight to jump into the top half of the conference standings with a 3-2 record.
Marquette travels to Butler on Friday, Jan. 17 followed by a meeting at Xavier on Sunday, Jan. 19.
