Marquette volleyball players have scattered across the country since graduating college. Our Alumni Spotlight feature will allow us to provide personal and professional updates on the student-athletes who represented the University on the court and continue to be ambassadors today.
Meghan (Niemann) Mache was an All-American middle blocker for the Golden Eagles. She played in four NCAA Tournaments and was a member of the 2013 BIG EAST Championship team.

Current Location: Milwaukee, WIÂ
Â
Employer/Profession: I am teaching 3rd grade at Garden Homes Lutheran in Milwaukee. I student taught at Garden Homes while playing at Marquette and was lucky enough to be offered a full-time position after graduation. I also coach 7th-8th grade volleyball and 3rd-4th grade basketball. I love being a part of a school that strives to make a difference in the lives of the families we serve.Â
Â
What I remember best about Marquette: While I have many amazing memories with teammates, coaches and other student athletes at Marquette, my favorite memories are some of the big wins and program firsts that I was blessed to be a part of. In 2013, our team won the BIG EAST Championship for the first time in program history. To make the season extra special, men's and women's soccer both won the BIG EAST Championship for their respective sports. It was an incredible experience to not only win for our program, but also watch both soccer teams win at the same time! My other favorite win was taking down #7 Florida during the 2014 season. We won in a close five-set match and beat the highest ranked opponent in program history.Â
Â
Fun Fact: My husband, Matthew, and I met through athletics at Marquette during our freshman year! After getting married, we couldn't imagine a better place to start our life together than in Milwaukee! We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary in July.Â
