Wetherell Tabbed To BIG EAST Honor Roll

Redshirt junior Katrina Wetherell of the Marquette University women's soccer team was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon, her first league accolade of the 2021 campaign.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Jaydah Bedoya, UConn, So., F
Bedoya was crucial in a pair of UConn wins last week, scoring two goals and adding an assist to tie for the BIG EAST weekly lead with five points. The sophomore scored twice in a 3-2 overtime win over Creighton Thursday, including the game-tying goal in the 90^th minute. She then assisted on Jada Konte's 106^th-minute golden goal against Villanova on Sunday. Bedoya leads UConn with 13 points off five goals and three assists over 14 games this season.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Carrie Lewis, Xavier, Grad., M
Lewis was instrumental in a pair of key wins for the first-place Musketeers. She anchored a defense which allowed Xavier to outshoot DePaul and Marquette by a combined 36-18 margin, including 16-9 on target. The midfielder also added a flair of offense, assisting on Dana Dahm's game-winning goal at DePaul on Thursday, before dishing on Sarah Owusu's 30^th-minute goal against Marquette on Sunday.

BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Emma Martin, Butler, Fr., GK
Martin scored back-to-back shutout victories last week, making three stops in each contest. The rookie netminder had three stops in Thursday's 1-0 overtime win over Providence, before making three stops in Sunday's 2-0 victory over DePaul. Over seven BIG EAST appearances, Martin shows a 0.41 goals against average and .850 save percentage.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Cyanne Doyle, Georgetown, Fr., D
In the Hoyas' lone match of the week, Doyle went off for five points off two goals and an assist as Georgetown defeated Villanova, 5-0. Doyle assisted on Devon Lis' goal in the 13^th minute before adding scores of her own in the 17^th and 72^nd minutes. The rookie defender also helped the Hoyas outshoot the Wildcats by a 19-2 margin. Over 14 matches this season, Doyle ranks second on the GU roster with 12 points off five goals and two assists.

Amanda Kowalski, Butler, R-Sr., D – anchored a defense which scored back-to-back shutout wins while also scoring the game-winning goal against DePaul on Sunday; added an assist against the Blue Demons as well
Keelan Terrell, Creighton, Jr., GK – career-high 11 saves at UConn on Thursday; four stops in Sunday's shutout win over Seton Hall, the Bluejays' first BIG EAST victory of the season
Kaitlyn Mahoney, UConn, So., GK – went 2-0-0 with an .818 save percentage and 0.86 GAA; eight-save shutout vs. Villanova on Sunday
