Van Kleunen Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Graduate forward averaged 22.5 points per game to earn weekly honors
NEW YORK — Marquette women's basketball graduate forward has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after standout performances last week in wins over Milwaukee and North Dakota. The Mason, Ohio, native averaged 22.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, while shooting an incredibly efficient 71.0 percent (22-of-33) from the field on the week. Against Milwaukee, she registered a new career high of 25 points while playing in her school-record 135th career game. Against North Dakota, she went for 20 points on 10-of-11 shooting from the field in just 24 minutes of action.

Maddy Siegrist, Villanova, Jr., F
Playing in her first games since Nov. 12, Siegrist was dominant last week, averaging 32.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and .458 shooting as Villanova won at James Madison and upset No. 23/20 Oregon State. Siegrist, who had been sidelined the previous six games, tallied 36 points and 17 rebounds in her return against the Dukes on Thursday, before leading the Wildcats to the top-25 victory with 28 points and nine rebounds against the Beavers on Sunday. Â

Aneesah Morrow, DePaul, Fr., F
Morrow claims her fifth straight top freshman honor after totaling 18 points and 17 rebounds in DePaul's win at No. 14/14 Kentucky on Thursday. The rookie forward was 9-of-18 from the field and added a block and steal. The last player to garner five straight BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors was Villanova's Maddy Siegrist, who did so during the 2019-20 season. Morrow is the first in league history to do so over the first five weeks of the season.Â
