Maggie Starker Named 2021 United Soccer Coaches HS Player of the Year

Marquette midfielder BIG EAST All-Freshman selection in fall
Marquette University women's soccer player Maggie Starker was named the 2021 United Soccer Coaches High School Player of the Year, the organization announced this week.

The Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, native was one of 18 players recognized across the nation at the college, junior college, high school and youth levels.

"We are proud to have Maggie at Marquette and part of our family," head coach Frank Pelaez said. "Not only is she a very talented soccer player, she's also an extremely hard worker. Maggie had an incredible high school career at Whitefish Bay and she's on her way to doing the same thing at Marquette."

The Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year in 2021, Starker helped the team to the state title and was tabbed the league's player of the year. She concluded her career with 206 points (73 goals, 60 assists) and was the Journal Sentinel Player of the Year as a senior.

Starker finished with four goals (tied for second-most on team) in her debut campaign with the Golden Eagles and also added an assist to finish with nine points in 16 appearances to earn a spot on the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team. She made five starts and accounted for a pair of game-winning scores.
