King Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Junior guard led MU's scoring efforts in win over Cincinnati
MILWAUKEE — Marquette junior guard Jordan King was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her role in the team's 60-49 win over Cincinnati last week. The Rockton, Illinois, native went for a season-high 18 points to lead all scorers in the contest, while also recording five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Additionally, King shot a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to help secure the victory. This is the fourth BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll appearance for King, and her first of the season.Â

Sydney Cooks, Seton Hall, R-Sr., F/C
Cooks posted an impressive double-double as the Pirates closed out non-conference play with a win over Wagner on Tuesday. The redshirt-senior tallied 17 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks, making 50-percent of her attempts from the field (6-of-12) in 31 minutes of action. Cooks' six rejections ties the single-game high by all BIG EAST players this season. The 14 boards mark a career best, while the double-double is her first of the year. The 14 rebounds were the most by any BIG EAST player last week.Â

Aneesah Morrow, DePaul, Fr., F
Morrow keeps her streak alive, claiming her seventh consecutive honor following a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double against No. 20/17 Notre Dame on Wednesday. The freshman forward was 8-of-16 from the field and added two steals in 31 minutes. The double-double was her BIG EAST-leading ninth of the season – second-most in Division I.Â
