Sophia Leva Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

She saved a career-high 15 shots on Sunday
NEW YORK – Marquette University senior goalie Sophia Leva was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday.
A Macedon, N.Y., native, Leva saved a career-high 15 shots in MU's 14-10 loss to No. 19 Louisville on Sunday at Valley Fields. Her previous career-best for saves in a game was nine.
Leva (3-2) is having a breakout 2021 season, ranking in first in the BIG EAST in save percentage (.549) and second in goals against average (8.81). She ranks in the top-10 nationally in both categories as well.
Marquette (3-3) had won three straight games before dropping Sunday's contest against UofL. MU is back in action this weekend against UConn to open BIG EAST play at Valley Fields on Friday and Sunday.
