
Fleming on BIG EAST MLAX Honor Roll

The redshirt junior posted career highs of four goals and five points against Cleveland State
NEW YORK – Marquette University redshirt junior attackman Griffin Fleming was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for men's lacrosse, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Fleming scored a career-high four goals and added an assist as Marquette claimed its first victory of the season over Cleveland State, 10-5, on Saturday. He scored his first goal early in the second quarter to give MU a 4-1 edge and scored a natural hat trick spanning the third and fourth quarters to put MU up 10-4. Fleming leads Marquette with 14 goals and seven assists this season.
Fleming was the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week twice during the 2018 campaign, but this is his first weekly honor outside of top freshman recognition.
The Golden Eagles head to Denver for their second matchup of the year against the sixth-ranked Pioneers on Saturday at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.

Alex Simmons, Denver, Jr., A (Smithville, Ontario)
Denver junior attacker Alex Simmons co-led the Pioneers in points and led Denver in goals in the Pios road win at Providence to improve to 5-0 in BIG EAST play. Simmons scored five times in the 19-11 win and assisted two other goals. It was his second five-goal game this season, fourth hat trick of his career.

BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Danny Logan, Denver, Grad., SSDM (Upper Arlington, Ohio)
Denver's short stick defensive midfielder Danny Logan picked up four ground balls from his SSDM position and scored a goal in transition in Denver's road win at Providence, 19-11. His win helped improve Denver to 5-0 in league play.

Owen McElroy, Georgetown, Sr., GK (Ridgewood, N.J.)
Georgetown senior keeper Owen McElroy earned the win in goal with an 11-save day to help the Hoyas to an 8-7 win over Villanova. McElroy's 11-save performance was the 11th time this season he hit the double digit mark in saves. His save percentage for the game was .611. McElroy also picked up three ground balls with one caused turnover. Georgetown held its fifth opponent of the season to 10 goals or fewer. McElroy moves into 12th place all-time at Georgetown in career saves with 290.

Will Tominovich, Georgetown, Fr., D
Freshman defender Will Tominovich helped the Georgetown defense to a 8-7 victory over visiting Villanova. He led all BIG EAST players regardless of class with three caused turnovers. Georgetown held its fifth opponent of the season to 10 goals or fewer. Villanova was held to just 18 shots on target on the day. The Hoyas also picked up four ground balls.
