Men's Golf announces 2021 Fall Schedule

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's golf team is set to begin the 2021-22 season on Sept. 5-7 when it hosts the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills.

Erin Hills, the site of the 117th US Open and the longest course in major championship history (7,722 yards), hosts Marquette's home event for the seventh time in nine years. In the 2019 tournament, the Golden Eagles were led by All-American Hunter Eichhorn, who was co-medalist after shooting a 7-under 209 (70-67-72) in the three-day event.

The Golden Eagles will also host an individual event that Sunday and Monday in nearby Hartford, Wisconsin at Washington County Golf Course.

Marquette also makes return trips this fall to the Gopher Invitational, Windon Memorial Classic and the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate. The Golden Eagles close the fall slate with the Purdue Fall Invitational on Oct. 11-12 at Kampen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Indiana.

MARQUETTE INTERCOLLEGIATE AT ERIN HILLS – SEPT. 5-7

Then-junior Hunter Eichhorn claimed co-medalist honors with USF's Luke Gifford at the 2019 event with a 7-under 209. It was the fourth tournament win of Eichhorn's career and his second medalist honor of the season.
MU placed ninth at the Marquette Intercollegiate in 2019, while Purdue won the event and Northwestern finished as runner-up.
The Boilermakers and Wildcats are two of six teams returning to Erin Hills from the 2019 field, along with UC Davis, USF, Liberty and Wisconsin.

FAMILIAR STOPS

Marquette returns to Windsong Farm in Maple Plain, Minnesota for the Gopher Invitational on Sept. 12-13 after a sixth-place finish in the fall of 2019. Eichhorn led MU at the event in a tie for eighth with an even-par 213.
Eichhorn will look to defend his crown at Northwestern's Windon Memorial Classic on Sept. 27-28 at Lake Shore Country Club in Glencoe, Illinois. The Carney, Michigan native fired a 6-under 207 to win the event in 2019 at Conway Farms in Lake Forest, Illinois as the Golden Eagles tied for fourth as a team. Marquette's last team victory in the event came at The Knollwood Club in Lake Forest, Illinois on Sept. 23-24, 2018.
The Golden Eagles also claimed a team title in their last two visits to Rich Harvest Farms (Sugar Grove, Illinois) in the fall of 2017 and 2018. They'll compete in the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate this year on Oct. 2-4. MU set a program-record in 2017 at the course at 32-under par (832), while then-junior Oliver Farrell earned medalist honors with a 14-under 202. Eichhorn was Marquette's No. 2 that season with a 9-under 207 to place third overall.

The spring slate, including the championship portion of the schedule, will be announced later this fall.
