Wolf named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

Wolf hit .400 with 3.86 kills, 0.86 blocks and 5.57 assists per set in a 2-0 weekend
NEW YORK - Marquette University women's volleyball player Taylor Wolf was named the BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Week for women's volleyball, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Wolf helped the Golden Eagles (11-2, 2-0 BIG EAST) to a pair of victories in their opening weekend of league play with wins at Villanova and Georgetown. The Waconia, Minnesota native hit a combined .400 (27-3-60) with just three hitting errors on 60 swings, and added four service aces, seven digs and six blocks in seven sets. Wolf, who splits time between right-side hitter and setter, posted a total of 39 assists, including 23 in the 3-1 win at Villanova and 16 in the sweep of Georgetown.
She also had 17 kills and hit .516 in the Georgetown match, marking a season-best and the most kills she has had while wearing a Marquette uniform.
It is her third BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honor and the fourth time she has earned a BIG EAST weekly award. He was also honored on Aug. 30 after earning most valuable player honors at the Rainbow Wahine Classic for her play in MU's season-opening wins over Texas A&M, Hawaii and Fairfield.
Marquette hosts its league home opener on Friday when the Connecticut Huskies come to the Al McGuire Center. Opening serve is set for 5 p.m. and the match is slated to precede Marquette Madness during Marquette's Homecoming Weekend.
