Karlen Earns BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Recognition

Sophomore forward honored by the conference for the second-straight week
NEW YORK — For the second-consecutive week, Marquette's Liza Karlen has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, following her performance in a pair of wins last week for the Golden Eagles. The sophomore forward played a big role in both of MU's wins, averaging 14.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 blocks per game. Against Seton Hall, she recorded a double-double with 14 points and a career-high 15 boards.
This is Karlen's second Weekly Honor Roll appearance of the season, and third of her career.
BIG EAST Player and Freshman of the Week
Aneesah Morrow, DePaul, Fr., F
A day after breaking the single-game BIG EAST rebounding records, Morrow became the first player in league history to sweep Player and Freshman of the Week honors for a third time. Morrow averaged 24.7 points and 19.7 rebounds in a 2-1 week for the Blue Demons, highlighted by Sunday's record-breaking performance at Seton Hall. The rookie corralled 27 rebounds – smashing not only the BIG EAST single-game freshman record (20) but the overall standard (25) as well. The BIG EAST rookie record had been on the books since 1984, while the overall mark dated back to 1986. Morrow notched three straight double-doubles, beginning with 30 points, 14 rebounds against No. 10/9 UConn on Wednesday, followed by 22 points, 18 rebounds against St. John's on Friday. Along with the 27 boards, she added 22 points against the Pirates. With Sunday's performance, Morrow now leads the nation with 13.4 rebounds per game.Â
