Murray is BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

Murray hit .594 with no hitting errors and averaged 3.17 kills per set; Skrabak also earns honors
NEW YORK - Marquette University middle blocker Carsen Murray was honored on Monday as the BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while libero Carly Skrabak is on the league's weekly honor roll, after leading MU to a pair of sweeps at Providence and UConn over the weekend.
Murray hit a combined .594 in the two contests with zero hitting errors and averaged 3.17 kills and 0.83 blocks per set. She totaled 19 kills and five blocks over six sets as the Golden Eagles hit .314 as a team on the East Coast. She began her weekend with seven kills and three blocks on .583 hitting in Friday's sweep of the Friars. And followed that up with 12 kills on 20 errorless swings (.600) against the Huskies, along with a pair of blocks and three assists.
Murray is the BIG EAST leader in both hitting percentage (.419) and blocks per set (1.16) and also ranks ninth nationally in the former category. She has earned BIG EAST weekly honors three times this season and was the league's defensive player of the week once last year.
Skrabak averaged 5.17 digs per set in the two matches and notched team bests of 19 digs at Providence and 12 digs at UConn. She currently sits fourth in the BIG EAST in digs per set (4.45) and has previously earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week twice this season.
The No. 16 Golden Eagles conclude regular season play this weekend with Friday's Senior Night match at the Al McGuire Center against Xavier before hosting league-leader No. 11 Creighton on Saturday evening.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

Murray powered Marquette to a 2-0 week, hitting a massive .594 with no errors. Against Providence, Murray produced seven kills and a team-best three blocks. In Sunday's sweep of UConn, the junior contributed 12 kills with three assists and two blocks. On the week, she averaged 3.17 kills and 0.83 blocks per set.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Angel Robinson, Xavier, Gr., MB
As Xavier swept Seton Hall and St. John's, Robinson led the BIG EAST with nine blocks, averaging 1.50 per set. The middle blocker recorded match-high blocks against the Pirates and Red Flash with three and six, respectively. She bolstered her performances with 14 kills, hitting a BIG EAST third-best .480 on the week.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Ava Martin, Creighton, Fr., OH
Martin ranked sixth among all BIG EAST competitors in kills (3.67) and ninth in points (4.00) following a 3-0 sweep of St. John's on Friday. Against the Johnnies, she recorded 11 kills with six digs and a service ace.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Keeley Davis, Creighton, Sr., OH
In a 2-0 week, Davis broke Creighton's all-time aces record, surpassing Molly Moran's 2001 mark (145) with four service aces against Seton Hall to total 147. Additionally, she averaged 3.67 digs and 2.17 kills per set.
Jazz Schmidt, Creighton, Sr., RS/S
In a 2-0 week, Schmidt ranked second in the BIG EAST in hitting (.526) and sixth in kills, averaging 3.67 over six sets.
Carly Skrabak, Marquette
In a 2-0 week, Skrabak ranked third among conference competitors in digs with 31 in six sets (5.17). Against Providence, she produced a match-best 19 digs.
Brielle Mullally, Providence, Sr., RS/S
In a 1-1 week, Mullally totaled 18 digs with 31 assists and 20 digs. Her 14 kills and 10 digs against DePaul marked the senior's fifth triple-double of the season, good for third in the nation.
Carrigan O'Reilly, Xavier
In a 2-0 week, O'Reilly led the BIG EAST in assists, totaling 74 for an average of 12.33 assists per set. She added eight kills and five blocks to a successful week.
