Group of 10 players includes transfers and prep standouts
The Marquette University women's soccer team welcomes 10 players to the program for the 2022 campaign, third-year head coach Frank Pelaez announced Wednesday afternoon.
Â
The 2022 class consists of five NCAA Division I transfers and five prep standouts, providing the squad with experienced veterans and talented newcomers. Three players are already on campus and training with the team. Aislinn Boyle (Nebraska), Molly Keiper (Villanova) and Isabella Cook (Tennessee) arrived on campus in time for the start of the spring semester at Marquette.
Â
"I am extremely excited to add these talented young women to our Marquette soccer family," Pelaez said. "Each one of them embody what Marquette stands for, both on and off the field. Each is focused on academic success, strives to make a difference in the community and will be a tremendous ambassador for the program.
Â
"This group brings a wide range of skill and ability to our roster and gives the team multiple options at a variety of positions," Pelaez added. "We are excited about the three newcomers who are already here and can't wait to get the entire group together in the fall."
Â
The Golden Eagles finished 9-8-0 overall in 2021 in Pelaez's second season as head coach, including a 5-5-0 mark in BIG EAST Conference action. MU opens its spring season March 26 at Valley Fields against Loyola Chicago.
