Hallam is MU's first honoree since Cole Blazer in 2018
LOUISIVLLE, Kentucky - Marquette University defensive midfielder Jacob Hallam is the first Golden Eagle since 2018 to earn USILA Scholar All-America honors, while Marquette was recognized with the USILA Team All-Academic Award.
Hallam is pursing his master's of business administration in Marquette's College of Business Administration and has a 3.6 grade point average as a graduate student. He was a two-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection while earning three Dean's List honors and three selections to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll during his undergraduate career as a finance major. He has also served as an executive board member on Marquette's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
The native of Centennial, Colorado played five years as a short-stick defensive midfielder and was MU's top option at the position as a fifth-year senior in 2022. He played in all 15 games this season while recording one assist, 15 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. He departed the program 12th in career caused turnovers (28).
Hallam has worked locally and in his home state on events that give access to differently-abled young athletes. In high school, he and four friends founded Unified Lacrosse, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) serving athletes with disabilities, that included camps, and fundraising for donated equipment. The idea stemmed from a conversation with the mother of a disabled fan who loved lacrosse but had no access to a team or organization. Since then, Hallam has also participated in, and coached, wheelchair lacrosse tournaments with various organizations, raising the profile of the sport to include adaptive sports programs.
The Golden Eagles earned the team academic award after posting a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average for the 2021-22 academic year.
