Golf earns GCAA Presidents Special Team Academic Recognition

The Golden Eagles narrowly fell to Harvard for the Division I Academic National Championship
NORMAN, Okla.Ā ā The Golf Coaches Association of America announced that the Marquette University men's golf team has earned the GCAA Team Academic Award with Presidents Special Recognition.Ā
The Golden Eagles finished the academic year with a team grade-point average of 3.78, led by perfect 4.0 GPAs from Connor Brown,Ā Hunter EichhornĀ and Max Lyons during the spring semester. The Presidents Special Recognition honorĀ is given to squadsĀ finishing with a team GPA of 3.5 and above.
To be eligible for GCAA Outstanding Team Academic honors a college or university must submit GPAs for each player on their official squad list for the academic year.
Marquette has earned the team academic honor every year since 2011-12.
Harvard (NCAA Division I), Newberry (NCAA Division II), Carleton (NCAA Division III), Wayland Baptist (NAIA), Andrew (NJCAA Division I), and Abraham Baldwin (NJCAA Division II) were all named 2021-22 Academic National Champions for finishing with the top GPA in their respective divisions, announced today by the GCAA. MU finished two-hundredths of a grade point behind Harvard for the 2021-22 GCAA Division I Academic National Championship.
