Chloe Olson named to weekly honor roll
Forward Josie Bieda of the Marquette women's soccer team has been named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Goalkeeper Chloe Olson also earned a spot on the weekly honor roll after earning a shutout in her first-career start.Â
BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Katie Soderstrom, Butler, R-Sr., F
Soderstrom led the RV Butler offense last week by scoring three goals and adding an assist to total seven points, and tallying 11 shots in two matches. She scored her three goals on five shots and had one assist against Wright State. The redshirt senior forward also had five shots, two of which were on goal, against No. 22 Wisconsin. Soderstrom led the league in shots, points, and goals last week, becoming the first BIG EAST player to register a hat trick in 2022.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Hannah Luke, Creighton, So., D
In a 2-0-0 week for Creighton, Luke was crucial in securing the two wins for the Bluejays. The sophomore defender helped Creighton limit their two opponents to only seven shots, including just four on goal. She also helped limit North Dakota to only four corner kicks and hold Tulsa without one. Luke also contributed on the offensive side by scoring a goal in Creighton's 2-0 win against the Hurricane.

BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Cara Martin, Georgetown, Fr., GK
Martin totaled five saves and an .833 save percentage in a 1-0-1 week for 17th-ranked Georgetown. She allowed one goal over 180 minutes of play. The freshman goalkeeper had a 2-0 shutout against Columbia and her one allowed goal came in a 1-1 draw at unbeaten Maryland.

Bieda scored the game-tying goal for Marquette in the 75th minute to force a 1-1 draw against UIC. The freshman forward had three shots, two of which were on goal, in two matches last week. Two of her shots came in a 5-0 win against Green Bay.

Chloe Netzel, Xavier, So., F – Scored the game-winning goal at Loyola Chicago; had three shots, two of which were on goal
