17 Game Slate Includes 8 Home Games at Valley Fields
MILWAUKEE – Marquette women's lacrosse and reigning BIG EAST Coach of the Year Meredith Black announced the 2024 schedule on Thursday afternoon. The 2024 slate features 17 games, including eight home games at Valley Fields.
"We are very excited about this year's schedule," said Black. "We have scheduled a few teams we haven't seen in awhile, including some Midwest schools that we are excited about. This schedule will help us build off our successful campaign last year, and also define our identity as a team this year."
The Golden Eagles are coming off the most successful season in history, with program records in overall wins (15) and conference victories (5), claiming second place. MU earned its first bid to the NCAA tournament.
Marquette opens the 2024 season by hosting Cincinnati on Feb. 11, the Sunday after National Marquette Day.
The Golden Eagles will be on the road for the next five games, starting with a trip to Louisville on Feb. 16. MU will make a trip for a night game at Northwestern, the defending national champions, on Feb. 19.
Marquette travels to Florida on Feb. 24 for a game against the defending Atlantic Sun champions, Jacksonville. MU then heads to Detroit Mercy on Feb. 28 for the final contest of February.
March starts out with a trip to Buffalo to play Niagara on March 3. The Golden Eagles return home on March 8 to host Colorado at Valley Fields.
A three-game homestand with three opponents from the state of Michigan begins with Eastern Michigan coming to Milwaukee March 17. Central Michigan (March 22) and Michigan (March 24) close out the month of March for MU at home.
Marquette starts the BIG EAST portion of its schedule on the road at UConn on March 30. MU's conference home opener is against Butler on April 3.
The Golden Eagles have a road matchup with Denver on April 6. Georgetown comes to Valley Fields on April 13.
