Tyler Kolek Consensus All-America Selection

Junior guard named to Sporting News, Associated Press, NABC & USBWA squads
MILWAUKEE - Marquette guard Tyler Kolek has earned Consensus All-America honors after being named to both the NABC and USBWA All-America teams on Wednesday afternoon.
Kolek earned NABC Division I All-America Third Team accolades and was tabbed USBWA Second Team All-America. Earlier in the month he was named second team by the Sporting News and third team by Associated Press, making him a consensus selection in a point system utilized by the NCAA.
Kolek, the BIG EAST Player of the Year, has helped guide Marquette to a 28-6 overall record and a No. 2 seed in the East Region of the NCAA tournament. MU opens play on Friday at 1:45 p.m. CT against 15th-seeded Vermont in Columbus, Ohio.
Markus Howard is the most recent player to claim consensus accolades, claiming second team in 2018-19 and first team in 2019-20. Kolek is the eighth player in Marquette history to garner the honors, joining Howard, Dean Meminger (1970-71), Jim Chones (1971-72), Earl Tatum (1975-76), Butch Lee (1977-78), Sam Worthen (1979-70) and Dwyane Wade (2002-03).
