Golden Eagles conclude 2022-23 season
 CAYCE, S.C. - The Marquette University women's tennis team (9-13) saw its 2022-23 campaign come to an end on Friday morning with a 4-0 loss to Xavier (12-7) in the quarterfinals of the 2023 BIG EAST Championships.

The Musketeers are the top-seeded team in the tournament and defeated Marquette for the second time in less than a week. MU earned a trip to the quarterfinals with a 4-0 win over Villanova on Thursday morning.

Xavier opened the match by claiming the doubles point and then posted straight-set wins at the No. 4, 5 and 6 to clinch the team victory. Playing to clinch suspends all play after a team reaches four points.

"We made some great progress this season during a tough year, and we will continue to grow," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "Our next year returners were able to gain some valuable experience and our seniors left it all on the court."
