
Emilija Kojcic Named All-BIG EAST First Team

NEW YORK - Marquette University women's tennis player Emilija Kojcic has been named All-BIG EAST First Team, the league office announced Wednesday Afternoon.

Kojcic buoyed the Golden Eagles all season long playing the No. 1 spot in most of her matches. She appeared in every match this season being a reliable piece for the team's top of the lineup.

"We are so happy for Emilija, this is an award that she has worked extremely hard for, and she is a great representative for our program and Marquette," director of tennis and head coach Steve Rodecap said. "She is very dedicated to being the best player and competitor that she can be, and I look forward to seeing her continue to grow as a player and leader."

Playing just three matches at No. 2, Kojcic finished 12-9 overall in dual singes action, she concluded the season with a 11-7 record at No. 1. She owned a 5-3 record this season against BIG EAST opponents and claimed wins in seven of her final 10 outings. Â Â

In doubles play the Pancevo, Serbia, native picked up 11 overall dual victories and teamed up with Elisabeth Desmarais at No. 1 doubles to earn nine of her eleven wins.
