Marquette opens campaign August 17 vs. Northwestern
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women's soccer team, led by fourth-year head coach Frank Pelaez, has announced its upcoming schedule for the 2023 season.

"We are looking forward to another competitive season and our challenging non-conference schedule will help prepare us for BIG EAST play," Pelaez said. "We have a great core of returning players who have been able to gain a wealth of valuable experience and are excited about what our group of newcomers brings to the roster."

The Golden Eagles will kick off the year with an exhibition against Green Bay on Tuesday, Aug. 8 on the road. The match will be the lone exhibition for the Golden Eagles.

In the season lidlifter, MU welcomes Northwestern to Valley Fields on Thursday, Aug. 17. Marquette will also co-host the Milwaukee Challenge Cup with UW-Milwaukee, which includes a matchup against Denver on Aug. 24 and Minnesota on Aug. 27.

The Golden Eagles will have a four-game homestand, which involves the start of BIG EAST play against the DePaul Blue Demons on Sept. 21, beginning on Sep. 14 against Western Michigan.

Marquette will host its Senior Day on Sept. 17 and Alumni Weekend on Oct. 22.

Three days after the final matchup of the season, Marquette looks to make a return to the BIG EAST Tournament, which starts on Sunday, October 29th.

The Golden Eagles return 22 letterwinners and eight starters from last season and welcomes eight newcomers to the roster in 2023. The team went 7-7-4 overall in 2022 and 3-4-3 in conference play.
