American Boy Fall Brawl
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's lacrosse team heads to Columbus, Ohio on Oct. 8 for its lone competition date this fall in the American Boy Fall Brawl at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
Robert Morris and Lafayette are at the event in addition to the host Ohio State Buckeyes and Golden Eagles.
A donation to the American Boy Project will be accepted for admission and can be made HERE. In its fourth season, the American Boy Fall Brawl benefits American Boy, a 5013-c dedicated to helping anyone struggling with addiction.
MU head coach Andrew Stimmel and assistant coach Bo Lori are both Ohio State alumni and played under OSU head coach Nick Myers. Stimmel also served as an assistant coach with Myers for the gold-medal winning Team USA squad in the 2022 World Lacrosse Men's Under-21 World Championship in Limerick, Ireland.
The Golden Eagles return all but two starters from last year's team, which finished 6-8 overall with wins over NCAA tournament regional semifinalist Michigan and national semifinalist and then-No. 5 Penn State. Marquette dropped its final four games to squads ranked in the top-11 nationally, including one-goal overtime losses in the last three conference games to end the season.
In addition to three-time USILA All-American Mason Woodward, graduate students Devon Cowan, Jake Stegman, Noah Verlinde and Luke Williams are back for MU, as is attackman Bobby O'Grady, who is on pace to becoming MU's all-time scoring leader.
