Karlen Earns Spot on BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Fifth conference honor of the season for senior forward
Liza Karlen earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after a pair of 20-point games last week against UConn and Butler. This marks Karlen's fifth conference weekly honor this season, including three BIG EAST Player of the Week nods.
BIG EAST Player of the Week
Grace Efosa, Providence, Sr., G
Efosa led Providence to a 2-0 week, highlighted by a 29-point showing in the Friars' win over Villanova on Wednesday. Efosa shot 12-of-23 from the field against the Wildcats, adding four rebounds and two steals. The senior guard added 12 points, three rebounds and three assists in Saturday's win at Xavier. For the week, Efosa averaged 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 50-percent shooting from the field. Providence extended its BIG EAST winning streak to three games, marking its first three-game conference winning streak since 2018-19. Efosa is the Friars' first BIG EAST Player of the Week since Jovana Nogic was recognized on Feb. 18, 2019. Efosa missed 11 games due to injury between November and January, averaging 12.2 points prior to the injury and 15.7 points in the six games since returning.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Maddie Webber, Villanova, Fr., G
Webber earns her first career BIG EAST Freshman of the Week certificate after leading all rookie scorers with a 19.0 average in a 1-1 week for the Wildcats. In Wednesday's overtime setback at Providence, Webber had a team-high 20 points, draining three triples. In Sunday's win at DePaul, Webber shot .571 from the field towards 18 points while adding four assists. Webber is Villanova's first BIG EAST Freshman of the Week since 10-time honoree Maddy Siegrist (2019-20).
