Anchante and Hamilton on BIG EAST VB Weekly Honor Roll

Hamilton and Anchante helped MU hit .302 in wins at SJU and VU

NEW YORK - Marquette University's Yadhira Anchante and Aubrey Hamilton were each named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for women's volleyball after a 2-0 weekend with wins at St. John's and Villanova.
Hamilton hit .377 and averaged 4.57 kills per set along with four total blocks and 14 digs. She landed a match-best 17 kills in Friday's 3-1 win against St. John's and hit .452 (15-1-31) to again lead all teams with 15 kills on Sunday at Villanova. She had seven digs in each match for an average of 2.00 per frame.
Hamilton is just eight kills away from becoming the 14th player in Marquette history to reach 1,000 kills in a MU uniform. The graduate student currently has 1,503 kills in her career.

Anchante paced Marquette's offense to a combined hitting mark of .302 over the weekend and an average of 13.86 kills per frame. She posted a pair of double doubles to boost her team-leading mark to 11 on the season and averaged a team-high 3.43 digs per frame. She had 36 assists, 11 digs and three blocks on Friday at SJU and posted 33 assists and 13 digs in Sunday's sweep of Villanova.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, Oct. 18 at the Al McGuire Center against DePaul to begin a three-match homestand, which concludes on Tuesday, Oct. 22 against cross-town foe Milwaukee.
