Anchante Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

MU's setter is honored in consecutive weeks

NEW YORK - Marquette University women's volleyball setter Yadhira Anchante was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced on Monday afternoon.

Anchante helped the Golden Eagles to a 4-0 week with wins over Seton Hall, Georgetown, Milwaukee and Princeton. She averaged 10.36 assists per set and added six service aces, four blocks and 3.00 digs per set for the Golden Eagles, who posted a team hitting percentage of .270 for the week.
Anchante had 41 assists in Tuesday's sweep of Milwaukee and notched a pair of double doubles against Seton Hall (42 assists, 17 digs) on Friday and Princeton (30 assists, 11 digs) on Saturday.
She passed both Lauren Speckman (2,852; 2016-19) and Elizabeth Koberstein (2,868; 2012-13) on MU's career assist leaderboard this weekend and currently has 2,950 assists in her NCAA Division I career. That mark places her fourth in program history.
The accolade is Anchante's fourth weekly honor of the season.

The Golden Eagles return to action at the Al McGuire Center this weekend against Villanova on Friday evening and St. John's on Sunday afternoon.
