The Golden Eagles have taken the last 13 meetings over the Friars, including the last six at Providence.
STARTING FIVE
• In her fifth season at the helm of Marquette women's basketball, Coach Duffy has the best winning percentage of any coach in MU history, going 103-42 (.710) overall and 58-28 (.674) in BIG EAST play.
• MU is one of 14 schools to have multiple players on Naismith Starting 5 Top 10 lists (Jordan King & Liza Karlen).
• Jordan King is the active career scoring leader in the BIG EAST with 1,686 points and second with 563 assists.
• Liza Karlen is averaging a double-double, 27.0 points and 10.5 rebounds, over the last two games.
• Mackenzie Hare is second in the nation in 3-point percentage (48.2) and fifth in 3's made (66).
SCOUTING THE FRIARS
• Providence is coming off a 69-60 win at Xavier last Saturday.
• The Friars have won three-straight in league play for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
• Olivia Olsen is the only player in the league averaging a double-double during BIG EAST play (14.1 points and 10.8 rebounds)
• The Friars were picked ninth in the BIG EAST coaches' preseason poll.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST PROVIDENCE
• Saturday's meeting will be the 31st all-time between Marquette and Providence.
• Marquette leads the series, 25-5.
• The Golden Eagles have taken the last 13 meetings against the Friars.
• MU is 12-2 playing in Providence.
• Saturday's meeting will be the only game of the season between the two since the league moved to an 18-game schedule.
KARLEN CAREER SCORING STRETCH
• Liza Karlen is averaing a double-double over her last two games (27.0 points and 10.5 rebounds).
•Karlen had her second-straight double-double at Creighton with 29 points on a career-high 13 made field goals and ten rebounds.
• The senior has led the team in scoring 10 times this season, and has nine 20-point games after having four total her first three years at MU.
• The St. Paul, Minnesota native is second in the BIG EAST and 10th nationally in FG made with 165.
• Karlen earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after scoring 21 against UConn and her fourth double-double of the season vs. Butler (25 points and 12 rebounds).
HARE AMONG NATION'S BEST FROM THREE
• Mackenzie Hare is first in the BIG EAST and second in the nation in 3-point percentage (48.2) and eighth in treys per game (3.1).
• Hare hit her 100th 3-pointer at Villanova on Jan. 17. The sophomore reached 100 career 3's in 49 games, fastest since Natisha Hiedeman (43 games) who is first all-time in career 3's with 301 from 2015-19.
• The Naperville, Illinois native is first in the BIG EAST in 3-pointers made with 66 for the season, good for fifth in the nation.
• Hare is ten made 3's away from setting the program record for 3's made by a sophomore (75) set by Natisha Hiedeman during the 2016-17 season.
MOVING THE BALL
• Marquette is second in the BIG EAST and sixth in the nation in assists per game (19.7).
• The Golden Eagles have recorded 20-or-more assists in 11-of-21 games this season. MU hit that mark eight times all of last season.
MONEY FROM DEEP
• Marquette is sixth in the nation and first in the BIG EAST in 3-point percentage (39.3 percent).
• The Golden Eagles have shot 50-percent-or-better from deep five times this season.
• Mackenzie Hare (1st, 48.2 percent) and Jordan King (11th, 38.9 percent) both rank top 11 in the BIG EAST.
