Mason Woodward is a consensus preseason All-America selection
LOUISVILLE – Marquette University men's lacrosse defenseman Mason Woodward was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Division I Preseason All-America Second Team, it was announced on Thursday.
The native of Towson, Maryland is a three-time USILA All-American and a four-time team captain, who is on pace to become Marquette's all-time ground ball leader in early 2024. He was named a third team postseason All-America defenseman at the conclusion of the 2023 campaign by the USILA.
The honor adds to the slate of preseason awards Woodward has earned this year, including unanimous BIG EAST Conference Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and a spot on the USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America Second Teams.
The Golden Eagles begin their 2024 regular season at Air Force on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. Central time.
