Stegman had 12 points in a 1-1 week for MU and set the program's all-time assist mark

NEW YORK — Marquette University men's lacrosse graduate student Jake Stegman was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for men's lacrosse it was announced on Monday afternoon.
Stegman recorded 12 total points in a 1-1 week for the Golden Eagles. He set a MU single-game record with six assists in Tuesday's win over Detroit Mercy and recorded another new career-high with seven points, including his first goal of the year. Stegman broke Conor Gately's program record of 63 career assists with his helpers against the Titans and has 69 total after adding another three in Sunday's loss to No. 1 Notre Dame.
Stegman had a team-high five points against the Irish with a pair of goals in addition to his three assists. He started both games this week on attack with Devon Cowan out of the MU lineup.
It is Stegman's first weekly honor of the season and first since claiming BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on March 4, 2020. Stegman is currently tied for the MU points lead with Bobby O'Grady (13-2-15) through four games.
The Golden Eagles (3-1) return to action at 6 p.m. Central time on Saturday, Feb. 24 against No. 13/12 Michigan in Naples, Florida at Paradise Coast Sports Complex.
