#MUBB NCAA Tournament First Round Media Day

Golden Eagles open play Friday against Western Kentucky
INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - The second-seeded Marquette University men's basketball team (25-9, 14-6 BIG EAST) took part in first-round media availability on Thursday, March 20 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The team began media day with coaches and student-athlete interviews.
Tyler Kolek, Kam Jones, and Oso Ighodaro opened Marquette's media availability .
"The trust and care we have for each other to go out there and compete for one another is something we have talked about all year, and this is the perfect time to do so," Kolek said on mindset heading into NCAA play.

Head coach Shaka Smart took the media podium next to discuss Friday's matchup vs fifteenth-seeded Western Kentucky.
"I think our experience will help us a lot," Coach Smart said in regards to the team's tournament experience. "Between coaches and then most importantly our juniors and seniors, we've got a core group of guys that have been in the NCAA Tournament now going on a third year."
The team also participated in open practice, the NCAA grants each participating program a 40-minute practice slot that gives media and fans an opportunity to watch teams go through various drills the day before competition.
